Weck Polymer Ligation Hem-o-lok-2

Security you can feel from the #1 selling locking polymer clip

Why have surgeons trusted the Hem-o-lok System for more than one million patients? As the #1 selling locking polymer clip, the Hem-o-lok System offers quality, reliability, and performance in clip security.

Designed for confidence

Featuring a first-of-its-kind locking mechanism and distinct tactile feedback, the Hem-o-lok System gives surgeons the confidence of knowing they’ve locked securely on the patient vessel.

A history with robotic laparoscopy

Since 2007, we’ve collaborated with Intuitive Surgical to provide the Hem-o-lok System for use with the da Vinci® Surgical System.

Proven performance

Backed by 84 peer-reviewed articles, no other polymer clip stands on so much evidence to support clinical and financial outcomes. Based on an ex-vivo study*, Weck® Hem-o-lok® polymer clips provide unparalleled security compared to Ethicon LIGAMAX™ 5, Ethicon LIGACLIP® ERCA 10 mm, and Covidien Endo Clip™ III in three common clip failure modes. Hem-o-lok Medium/Large clips have:

  • At least 5 times greater clip retention in lateral pull-off force
  • At least 1.8 times greater leak resistance in leak pressure testing
  • At least 1.3 times greater clip retention in axial pull-off force

Versatility to meet your needs

Hem-o-lok Clips come in a range of sizes indicated to ligate structures from 2 mm to 16 mm.

Weck Polymer Ligation Hem-o-lok-2

Secure Clips

Cutting-edge design

  1. Bosses are designed to retain clip in applier jaws.

  2. Integrated teeth interface with the vessel and are designed to prevent slippage.

  3. Bow-shape design allows removal with appropriate instrument.

  4. Hinge allows flexibility in clip placement prior to clip locking.

  5. Locking mechanism provides tactile feedback and secure closure.

  6. Nonabsorbable polymer is inert, nonconductive, and radiolucent; it does not interfere with CT, MRI, or X-ray diagnostics.

Because the Hem-o-lok System is a cold ligation system, there's no chance of thermal spread to vital structures – a common concern of many surgeons when using energy-based ligation solutions.

The Hem-o-lok System is available in four sizes: Medium, Medium-Large, Large, and Extra-Large. Ordering information in catalog

Bronchoscope Stabilization System

Eliminate Need for Assistance

The bronchoscope is securely attached to the BSS which eliminates the need for an assistant, resulting in reduced staff requirements and thus more working space in what are often crowded suites.

Reduce Radiation Exposure

The BSS provides hands-free stabilization which permits doctors and staff to be removed from the field during imaging, which reduces harmful radiation exposure.

Shorten Procedure Time

As the BSS maintains bronchoscope positioning, compensation for tremors or movement is not necessary – a static image shortens the procedure time and allows for enhanced work flow.

Key Features

Mediflex® offers the only table-mounted stabilization platform designed specifically to hold a flexible bronchoscope during interventional pulmonology procedures, particularly those that include: Electromagnetic Navigation Bronchoscopy (ENB), Radial Endobronchial Ultrasound (rEBUS) and Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT).

  • Eliminates an assistant
  • Static holding in all directions without trembling or moving
  • Decreases radiation exposure, doctors/staff can move away from patient during imaging
  • Facilitates insertion of working instruments
  • Permits the scope tip and working instruments to stay in one spot, despite the patient breathing
  • Allows for precise (brush/biopsy) sampling, decreasing sampling error
  • Speeds up overall procedure

Bronchoscope Stabilization System

The Bronchoscope Stabilization System table-mounted articulating arm offers static, hands-free holding of flexible bronchoscopes. One handle controls all three joints for ease of rapid positioning or adjustment. It will maintain scope position during imaging and intervention, and help to reduce trauma to the anatomy.

“There were less hands needed to perform the procedures - eliminating one assistant. The stability of the scope decreases sampling error as there was less need to reposition the bronchoscope between sampling.”
              – Dr. Thomas. Malfait, Interventional Pulmonologist, University Hospital Ghent, Belgium

CystoAssist Endourologic Platform

A Versatile Stabilization Platform for Endourologic Procedures -
Maintaining Access with Less Hands and Radiation Exposure

CystoAssist Endourologic Platform

What doctors are saying about CystoAssist™

“The true benefit of the device is that it allowed a rigid cystoscope sheath to be held in position aligned with the ureteral orifice and facilitated placement of the ureteral access sheath when the sheath was previously buckling in the bladder and could not be advanced even over a super stiff wire.”

"I was able to use the cystoscope sheath to access the ureter without dilating and it was easy to get in and out of the ureter"

“With cystoscope sheath in the bladder, the bladder is kept empty, preventing over distention during a longer ureteroscopic case.”

“With a large prostate gland, maintaining the scope sheath in a static position avoids its movement and prevents it rubbing on the bladder neck which can cause troublesome bleeding and obscure vision.”

“During stent placement, I was able to stand further away from the image intensifier and fluoroscopy source, reducing my exposure to radiation.”

“CystoAssist facilitates passage of the stent without an assistant as I could hold the working wire and advance the stent without having to have a hand on the cystoscope sheath.”

CystoAssist Endourologic Platform

WORK-FLOW EFFICIENCY
Surgeons can work more efficiently without being grounded to scope holding. Frees up assistants & staff for other tasks.

REDUCE RADIATION EXPOSURE
CystoAssist™ protects the entire surgical team from harmful radiation exposure with 'hands-free' stabilization of the cystoscope.

MINIMIZE TRAUMA
Patient safety is enhanced as trauma is reduced when the access is maintained.

PREVENT WASTE
Product waste and delays due to inadvertent droppage can be prevented - saving time and cost.

Schelin Catheter

About the schelin catheter

The Catheter is a CE-marked* device for injections of legally marketed drugs into the prostate. At first glance the Schelin Catheter® looks like a normal urinary catheter but it has an extra channel through which a thermoplastic cannula is inserted. The cannula is connected to a syringe and thus drugs can be injected directly into the prostate in a sterile transurethral way.

When local anaesthesia is administered with the Schelin Catheter:

  • Pain & discomfort is decreased
  • The risk of pathogens from the rectum to enter the body is eliminated
  • The need for general anaesthesia is eliminated

* Not approved in US, China & other MDSAP countries

Schelin Catheter

HOW TO USE IT

The injection technique is based on Cleggs / Walsh’s vascular and neural microanatomy where blood vessels and nerves enter and leave the prostate in the base area. This corresponds to the inside of the prostate where a transrectal “periprostatic block” is placed at the corresponding place outside the prostate. (See picture and reference).

The Schelin Catheter is inserted into the urethra after which the balloon is inflated and anchored to the bladder neck. By rotating the catheter and adjusting the protruding part of the needle the operator is enabled to inject drugs into a number of places in and around the prostate tissue. The catheter is rotated by pushing it 2 – 5 cm further into the urethra, turned and then pulled back. The drainage lumen of the catheter also makes it possible to drain the bladder. It is not possible to remove the needle from the catheter.

Schelin Catheter

Recommended  Catheter Positions

The injections are always made after aspiration and positioned
“Clockwise” according to Clegg’s anatomy at 1, 4. 8 and 11.

The figure on the right is an example when using it in conjunction with Water Vapor therapy.

Ingenion Medical - Cymactive

Putting men back in control of their urinary retention

cymactive™: An indwelling catheter that mimics natural urination

  • Reduce | unplanned urology visits
  • Gain | peace of mind
  • Take | back control

Ingenion Medical - Cymactive

Tired of the challenges associated with traditional catheters?

Traditional catheters come with known difficulties. It doesn’t need to be this way...

Reduced quality of life

Traditional catheters can negatively affect a patient's quality of life. This is due to the use of drainage bags with Foley catheters, or the need to self-catheterise 6-8 times per day with intermittent catheters.

Increased risk of Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)

Catheters are highly susceptible to infections and UTIs are a major issue with both short-term and long-term catheter use.¹

Decrease in bladder health

Foley catheters continuously drain urine, preventing the natural expansion and contraction of the bladder, which normally occurs during urination. This can result in the loss of bladder function due to the weakening of the bladder muscles through inactivity.

Negative impact on the environment

Single-use plastic waste from Foley and intermittent catheters have a significant impact on the environment. Intermittent catheters alone lead to 206 million liters of waste annually.

Ingenion Medical - Cymactive

cymactive™ has been designed with the patient in mind to provide a better solution

Improve patient quality of life

cymactive™ allows patients to manage the voiding process* by closely mimicking natural urination and removes the need for a drainage bag or frequent self-catheterisation.

Minimise the causes of UTIs

cymactive™ works with urethra's natural barrier against infection to minimise the causes of UTIs, thereby reducing the pain, discomfort and unplanned hospital visits they cause annually.

Promote natural bladder function

cymactive™ is designed to facilitate the natural filling and voiding of the bladder to maintain bladder function.

Reduce environmental waste

cymactive™ can remain in-situ for up to 30 days.³ This reduces plastic waste from catheters and drainage bags, decreasing the impact cymactive™ has on the environment compared to traditional catheters.

Ingenion Medical - Cymactive

How cymactive™ works

cymactive™ introduces a new approach to indwelling catheters, designed to remain securely in-situ for up to 30 days.³

Our patented UroValve™ uses an external magnet to activate a valve on the catheter within the urethra allowing the natural and complete emptying of the bladder at the patient's convenience.

Entirely internal, cymactive™ is discreet with only two slender removal threads extending from the penis.

This design combines the stability of a Foley catheter with the autonomy and bladder function of an intermittent catheter.

Fasciotens | Abdominal Wall Solutions

Abdominal Wall Solutions

Fascial traction is the answer

Whether you are faced with the intricacies of an open abdomen, complex hernias, or the challenging task of treating newborns with abdominal wall defects, fasciotens® is here to provide standardized solutions that make treatments more efficient and less traumatic.

Fasciotens Abdomen-177

Revolution in open abdominal therapy

What is different about using Fasciotens® solution?

Preventing abdominal wall retraction

By applying vertical traction to the abdominal wall immediately, retraction of the lateral abdominal muscles can be prevented. Especially in the early phase of open abdominal therapy, horizontal traction cannot be applied sufficiently. In contrast, vertical traction can be applied from the very beginning, regardless of the degree of intestinal edema, and ultimately accelerates the final closure of the abdominal wall at the end of the treatment.

Immobilization of the patient*

The technique of applying vertical traction to the abdominal wall increases the intra-abdominal volume. The expansion of the abdominal cavity causes a decrease in intra-abdominal pressure (determining the IAP is one of the most important factors in patient stabilization.

Easy integration into daily intensive care routines

The device is designed to be used seamlessly in the intensive care unit. It can be removed and reattached in seconds for emergencies or patient care. Training the intensive care team is a vital part of our orientation process. We make sure to support you in the best possible way.

Seamless combination with NPWT

fasciotens® can be easily combined with other techniques such as negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT). We have prepared a step-by-step guide for applying the wound dressing.

How does it work?

Vertical traction is the solution to succeed in open abdomen treatment

The fasciotens®Abdomen device applies controlled vertical traction to the abdominal wall. It increases the volume of the abdominal cavity and thus reduces the intra-abdominal pressure. This can have beneficial effects on lung function, organ perfusion and renal output*.

Additionally, the device prevents fascial retraction, facilitating direct closure after the oedema decreases. Revision surgeries or "planned" incisional hernias become much less likely.

Fasciotens Abdomen-177

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I not stick to horizontal mesh traction?

pen abdominal treatment reduces intra-abdominal pressure and resolves abdominal compartment syndrome. By opening the abdomen, you increase the volume in the abdominal cavity. Applying horizontal traction helps prevent fascial retraction, but it can reduce the intra-abdominal volume and increase the intra-abdominal pressure again. Therefore, you should normally wait until the intestinal edema and distension have decreased to a level that allows the use of horizontal mesh traction. In the meantime, the lateral abdominal wall muscles retract.

Is it possible to combine Fasciotens® Abdomen treatment with other techniques?

Absolutely! Depending on the patient's condition, different techniques can or should be added to our therapy. In many cases, vertical fascial traction is combined with abdominal negative pressure wound therapy.

What is the procedure for my first consultation?

Simply contact your local fasciotens partner or contact us directly. One of our surgeons or fasciotens® specialists will discuss your case with you and we will agree together whether fasciotens® is suitable. We will ensure that a fasciotens® specialist is present during the treatment and will also provide comprehensive training for the staff in the intensive care unit.

How long does treatment with Fasciotens®Abdomen take?

This largely depends on the patient's condition.

If the patient is stabilised in a short time, a direct fascial closure can be performed.

It usually takes several days, sometimes even weeks. The device will be applied either in the operating room or in the intensive care unit.

How does Fasciotens®Abdomen fit into the daily routine in the intensive care unit?

Our intensive care team will receive comprehensive training from our fasciotens® specialists. They can carry out all their daily tasks as usual.

Fasciotens Hernia-178

Gentle repair of complex hernias

Why is the fasciotens® solution spreading so fast?

Utilise myofascial elongation

Applying diagonal traction to the lateral abdominal wall leads to myofascial stretching. By following this procedure during surgery, it's possible to achieve direct fascial closure.

Avoid traumatic procedures

To achieve a midline closure in complex hernia repair, invasive techniques such as transverse abdominis release are often needed. These challenging techniques deliberately weaken the lateral abdominal wall and should be reserved for the most severe cases. We are convinced that a simpler and gentler approach for most cases should be pursued.

Quantifiable standardized traction

The fasciotens® system is well-probed, CE-certified and was confirmed in several clinical studies. Quantifiable and reproducible traction is applied on the abdominal wall, made visible by the integrated scale to adapt to different patient anatomy.

Another tool in the toolbox

fasciotens® shows impressive results from complex hernias with defects >8 cm width and loss of domain. However, in more challenging cases, the technique can easily be combined with other procedures. Surgeons regularly use fasciotens®  together with Botox pre-treatment, TAR or others, depending on the case's requirements. Good to know: You can even use the device in a laparoscopic and robotic approach.

How does it work?

Intraoperative fascial traction allows myofascial elongation

The fasciotens®Hernia device applies vertical-diagonal traction to the abdominal wall intraoperatively. Usually, it takes approx. 30 minutes of traction.

Fasciotens Hernia-178

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I add another technique to my repertoire?

fasciotens®Hernia is a powerful tool in your toolbox. While traditional methods can close most of the hernias, they come with a list of side effects and trade-offs. Recently, wide discussions arose about whether less invasive treatments should be utilised more regularly. fasciotens® allows a high rate of direct fascial closure.

Can I combine the fasciotens®Hernia therapy with other techniques?

Absolutely! Depending on the patient's condition and medical history, different techniques can or should be added to our approach. In many cases, a pre-treatment with Botox proved to be a successful combination. fasciotens® can also be used in laparoscopic and robotic procedures.

What's the procedure for my first application?

Just reach out to your local fasciotens partner or directly to us. One of our surgeons or fasciotens® specialists will discuss your case with you and together we agree on whether fasciotens is suitable. We will make sure that you will have a fasciotens® expert at your side during the treatment.

How long does the treatment with fasciotens®Hernia take?

That depends largely on your patient's condition. The device will be applied exclusively in the OR. After preparation (e.g. retrorectus dissection) the device is set up and fascial traction is normally carried out for approx. 30 minutes. In most cases the fascial edges can be closed directly afterwards.

What do I have to tell my anaesthesiologist?

Since you will apply traction among others to the muscles of the abdominal wall, the patient should be under full muscle relaxation during the whole procedure. Besides that, your in-house standards can be applied.

Fasciotens Pediatric-179

Improve treatment outcomes for the youngest

Why do pediatric surgeons choose the fasciotens® solution?

Increase intra-abdominal volume

By applying quantifiable, vertical traction to the lateral abdominal wall, myofascial stretching is achieved relatively easily in newborns. By following this staged closure procedure, it's possible to create enough space in the abdominal cavity to relocate the prolapsing organs.

Quantifiable traction

The fasciotens® system is clinically established and supports standarization of abdominal wall treatment in newborns. Quantifiable and reproducible traction is applied to the lateral abdominal wall made visible by the integrated scale to adapt to different patient conditions.

Easy integration into daily ICU routines

The device was designed to be used hassle-free in daily care. It can be applied and removed within seconds in case of emergency or patient care. Throrough training of the ICU team is a key step during our onboarding process.

How does it work?

Standardized fascial traction for congenital abdominal wall defects in newborns and infants

The fasciotens®Pediatric device applies controlled and quantifiable vertical traction to the abdominal wall.
